IT MIGHT BE GONE, IT MIGHT BECOME

Duoshow Jasmijn Krol & Liza Wolters
Opening 27 July, Open 28 July - 11 August
@ TTHQ

Jasmijn Krol (Dongen, 1988) and Liza Wolters (Landgraaf, 1992) both work with photography and video, and find inspiration in their direct environment. They consider the world around them as if it were a unstaged set, where coincidence, theatricality, choreography and the fleetingness of everyday life demands their attention. Their work mostly arises without a prearranged plan, and images can occur wherever they go.
Both Krol and Wolters approach the world through the camera eye, recording and directing coincidences and moments.

Contrasting with the similarities mentioned above, the way both artists relate to the world and how they use their cameras shows a sharp difference. Whereas Liza Wolters’ work is fragmented and absolved from the passage of time, Jasmijn Krol is fascinated by sequentiality and how time passes within a given frame.
